In the opening round of the Armenian Premier League, Ararat-Armenia defeated Gandzasar in a high-scoring match.

Arayik Eloyan, Jose Junior Julio Bueno, and Alioune Ndour found the net for the Armenian champions, while Shunto Kanda scored an own goal. Gandzasar responded with goals from Dean Titkov, Artyom Avanesyan, and Joao Adriano Sa De Almeida.
